It is a very good piece of work that brings to the table an issue we have been seeing in recent years: women have innate immunity that allows them to respond better to HIV than men. Thus, in the same situation, the HIV virus reservoir in women is smaller than in men, which suggests a greater probability of eradicating the virus in women than in men. In fact, anecdotal cases of extreme HIV control are mostly women.
